Jubilee Challenge 2026

18th May 2026

We are incredibly proud of our pupils who took part in the Jubilee Challenge. For many of our young people, opportunities to experience major mainstream events can be limited, so this was a truly special achievement for them.

Ten Tors is one of the South West’s most respected outdoor challenges, and it is about so much more than walking across Dartmoor. It requires determination, teamwork, resilience and stamina - all qualities our pupils showed in abundance.

The challenge gave pupils the chance to do something extraordinary. They camped, carried and managed their own kit, navigated busy environments and pushed themselves far beyond what they thought possible. Along the way, they developed confidence, independence and important life skills that will stay with them for years to come.

Pupils also had the opportunity to meet and work alongside members of the Army, ambulance crews and support teams, gaining a valuable insight into the people who play such important roles in our communities.

Staff described the experience as transformational, and it was clear to see why. The pride on the pupils’ faces as they crossed the finish line was unforgettable, and their sense of achievement was enormous.

One member of staff described the impact as “transformational,” explaining that the pride on pupils’ faces at the finish line is unforgettable.

"The sense of achievement is enormous,” they said. “Our pupils show incredible resilience and determination throughout. To see them cross that finish line knowing what they have overcome is emotional for everyone involved.”

The Jubilee Challenge Ten Tors has given our pupils confidence, friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. We could not be prouder of everyone involved.
