Covid Letter 21st March 2022

21st March 2022

Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing to let you know that we are currently experiencing a high rate of Covid cases in school. This is in line with the national picture and in particular East Devon.  We are following all national and Public Health England guidance, however confusing and varied the advice may be.

If a family member tests positive and your child can’t/won’t be tested, they can continue to attend school, unless they have one of the Covid symptoms listed on the government website. The symptoms are: a new or continuous cough, a high temperature and/or loss of taste/smell.

Unless the child themselves tests positive or has symptoms, they are encouraged to attend school as it looks like the situation is to remain like this for a while yet.

So far I have only had to make minimal closures across the school and, going forward, we would hope to avoid further closures wherever we can.  However, this may mean that your child has different staff each day, unfamiliar faces in class and last minute changes to routines. Please be patient as we are doing our best to keep the school running and as many children attending as possible.

If you have any concerns about the current situation please contact me, one of the leadership team or the class teacher.

Kind regards

S A Pickering
