At Mill Water we expect our pupils to:
Requirements for school dress are based upon a consideration of health and safety, sensory needs, religion, neatness, hygiene, and suitability for school activities. Each pupil should be able to move freely without the restriction of unsuitable clothing. Each pupil should be free from commercial pressure, and be accepted for who they are rather than judged by what they wear. For these reasons we expect each parent to take responsibility for ensuring that their child is dressed in accordance with the school dress code.
All items of uniform and PE kit should be clearly named.
Uniform
Pupils are expected to wear a Mill Water sweatshirt, cardigan or hoodie, which can be purchased from our main supplier ProServe School Uniforms, Unit 3 Dinan Way Trading Estate, Exmouth EX8 4RS Tel: 01395 222975.
Parents /carers also regularly donate a wide range of items of clothing which their children have outgrown. Please contact the school if you would like to know what is available.
The sweatshirt / cardigan / hoodie is the only item of uniform that must include the Mill Water logo.
In addition to a sweatshirt/cardigan/hoodie, pupils are expected to wear a white polo shirt and grey or navy blue trousers, shorts, skirt or jogging bottoms. A grey tunic dress or a blue gingham dress can also be worn.
Shoes need to be plain black and suitable for walking and playing. All pupils will need to bring a coat to school with them in cool or wet weather.
The school endeavours to ensure that our uniform is as gender neutral and inclusive as possible. We do not insist that children of any sex must wear specific items of clothing. We have deliberately limited the amount of branded school uniform, and ensured that the majority can be purchased from the cheapest possible source.
PE and Swimming
For PE, pupils need a pair of shorts, white cotton t-shirt and either plimsolls or trainers. The t-shirt may include the Mill Water logo, but this is not required.
Pupils also need a swimming kit and towel in a named bag.
Jewellery
Students are asked not to wear jewellery to school, other than small, plain stud earrings and watches. They will be asked to remove these before some lessons as they can cause injury during sport and practical lessons, as well as during break times if the student is involved in active games. Other forms of body piercing are not considered appropriate for school.
Queries
If your child has a particular issue please do contact the school. We will consider reasonable requests to meet the needs of any individual pupil to accommodate their religion or belief, ethnicity, disability, sensory needs or other special considerations.

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, eSchools) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”.
