9th May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

This weekend looks to be an exciting five of our KS4 pupils: as they take part in the Ten Tors Jubilee Challenge. They will camp overnight tonight and walk 8.5 miles tomorrow. The Ten Tors Jubilee Challenge is a trekking expedition on northern Dartmoor designed specifically for young people with special needs, both physical and educational. Just like the Ten Tors Challenge, our youngsters will be required to trek and navigate across northern Dartmoor to specified checkpoints. The weather is set to be warm and dry so I wish them all well and look forward to seeing them cross the finish line tomorrow.

A big thank you to all the staff, giving up their weekend to give the boys this fantastic experience.

RSHE Parent Drop in Session

On Thursday 15th May at 1.30-2.30 we’re running a RSHE parent drop in session. During this session you can find out about the content of the Relationships, Sex and Health Education learning and meet the class teacher to find out more information.

Lyme Disease

As the nice weather continues and we enjoy our outdoor walks with students, particularly through the Arboretum, we want to remind everyone about the potential presence of ticks in the area. While not all ticks carry diseases, it is important to note that it can be difficult to identify them just by looking. To ensure our pupils’ safety, we encourage parents to check their children for ticks after our outings, especially in areas where ticks are likely to hide.
