Harvest Week Newsletter

5th November 2025

Before the half term break we all greatly enjoyed learning about Harvest during a week of fun-filled activities.

We all enjoyed listening to stories with a Harvest theme.

Some of us explored props from the stories through our senses.

We particularly enjoyed smelling, touching and tasting a range of fruits and vegetables, donated by Tesco, as we listened to the story of Seren’s Harvest.

On Tuesday classes came together in the hall to celebrate Harvest with a special assembly.  We learnt about the meaning of Harvest and celebrated the generosity of our Mill Water Community for donating such a wonderful array of food items.  A highlight of the assembly was creating a giant domino run with all the boxes of cereal we received!

On Tuesday afternoon pupils from Silver and Peach Class delivered all our food donations to Seaton Food Bank.  They greatly enjoyed learning about the Food Bank and helping to sort the foods.

We were also awarded a thank you certificate for our generosity!

Silver and Peach classes had the opportunity to visit our local Exmouth Tesco store.  During a tour they learnt more about where our food comes from.

Lisa from Exmouth Tesco also visited some classes at school, bringing in a wide range of foods for the pupils to explore through their senses.

Other Harvest celebrations included baking bread and making fruit smoothies.

We also enjoyed art activities including printing with fruits and vegetables and making scarecrow faces with paper plates.

We want to give a particular thank you to our wonderful Mill Water Community for their great generosity with food donations for Seaton Food Bank.

We also want to thank Lisa and the team at Tesco in Exmouth for their generosity and time, which also helped make Harvest week such a successful event.
