Dear Parents/Carers
As we settle into the new term, we’re feeling excited about the many positive opportunities ahead. The evenings are slowly becoming lighter, which always brings a welcome boost during what can feel like the longest month of the year. Now, if only we could wish away the rain! (Though our pupils have certainly made the most of the rainy days with plenty of puddle splashing!).
Our pupils continue to impress us with their enthusiasm, dedication and achievements across all areas of school life.
Soggy parks and Muddy puddles!
Blue Class thoroughly enjoyed a recent visit to a local park, where they explored and made the most of the new play equipment on offer. Despite the wet and windy weather, our pupils have shown great enthusiasm and resilience, with nothing stopping them from getting out and about. These trips provide valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills and enjoy learning beyond the classroom, rain or shine!
Life skills
Across the school, there continues to be a strong focus on developing life skills and independence. Our pupils regularly take part in a wide range of daily living activities, and we have had lots of food preparation, tidying and organising learning spaces, practising personal care routines and developing independence.
Time to cook...and eat!
Yellow Class have been very busy cooking and preparing their own food, and, of course, taste-testing their creations along the way! Pupils have shown fantastic engagement throughout these activities, developing skills such as following instructions, turn-taking and working safely. They have also demonstrated excellent communication skills, confidently using their AAC devices to make choices, request items and share their thoughts and preferences. It has been wonderful to see their growing independence and enthusiasm during these sessions.
Welcome and congratulations!
We are delighted to welcome a new teacher to our school team this term and would like to extend a very warm welcome to them.
We would also like to say a huge well done to two of our Teaching Assistants who have successfully secured unqualified teacher roles and will be progressing in their professional journeys. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects their hard work, commitment and dedication to our pupils. We are incredibly proud to support their continued development within our school community.
