20th November 2025
Dear Parents/Carers
As we move through November, we are pleased to see some brighter, colder weather following the recent period of persistent rain. Outdoor learning remains an important part of our school day, and time spent outside benefits all pupils. To ensure your child is comfortable, please provide appropriate clothing for colder conditions.
Although snowfall in Devon is rare, there are occasions when severe weather may require the school to close. Any decision to close will always be based on safety, particularly regarding transport, as some school vehicles operate very early in the morning. Please note that conditions can vary significantly between your local area and the school site.
In the event of a closure due to snow or ice, we will communicate promptly by:
If your child’s individual transport is unable to operate, this does not necessarily mean the school is closed. Unless you receive official confirmation through the channels listed above, please assume the school remains open.
Should you have any questions regarding our snow day procedures, please contact the school office.
Please be assured that the safety and well-being of our pupils and staff will always be our top priority when making these decisions.
Thank you for your continued support.
Children in Need
We had a fantastic Children in Need Day! Thank you to everyone who donated through the link we shared. Your support means a lot!
Pupils showed their spirit by wearing spots and stripes. Throughout the week, each class took part in 25 minutes of physical activity, including dancing, cycling, and walking.
A special mention goes to Peach and Silver classes, who completed a sponsored 25km by riding or rowing 1km each throughout the day. Well done!
At 11.15am, many pupils joined together in the hall for a fun 25-minute workout led by Joe Wicks. The effort from everyone was amazing!
We finished the day with a lively disco in the hall. Thank you all for making this day a great success!
A Huge Thank You to Melissa!
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Melissa for her incredible effort in making and selling sweet cones, raising an amazing £50 for Mill Water School. Your generosity and hard work make a real difference, and we truly appreciate your support. The funds will go towards resources and activities that directly benefit our pupils, helping to enrich their learning experience and enjoyment at school. Thank you for being such an important part of our community!
Important Update on School Registers
We wish to inform all parents and carers that, effective immediately, school registers will now close at 9.30am. Our team are working hard in the morning to ensure transport queues are clear by 9.15am for pupils dropped off by parents and carers, therefore, we encourage everyone to arrive before 9.30am.
Please note that any pupils arriving after 9.30am will be marked as unauthorised. Your cooperation in adhering to this new attendance policy is greatly appreciated.

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, eSchools) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website or service you are using (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website or service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.
We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Services to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” cookies. Other cookies enable us and the third parties we work with to track and target the interests of visitors to our Services, and we refer to these as “advertising” or “analytical” cookies. For example, the embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos, as added by individual schools, will require “advertising” cookies to be enabled in order to successfully play them. Our Services allows schools to embed code which may potentially contain cookies. Please note embedded content, if displayed on one of our websites, has been added by the school and not by eSchools. The embedded content added by the school may require additional cookies or tracking technologies to be enabled in order to function.
