Mill Water is an all-age special school for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including ASC. We want all our pupils to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives as adults and we work closely with parents and carers to support our pupils in making good progress towards their future goals.

We wish to appoint a committed, creative and inspiring teacher from January 2019.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of the primary curriculum, as well as a good knowledge of early child development and early communication skills. You must have an understanding of the importance of working towards the outcomes in a pupil's EHCP and have experience of evidencing and tracking progress for pupils with SEN.

You will be flexible with a highly creative and innovative approach to teaching. This could be an opportunity for either an experienced or newly qualified teacher.

We are, above all else, seeking a robust, resilient and optimistic individual whose commitment, creativity and durability are more important than subject specialism, phase or sector.

Our safeguarding commitment is underpinned by robust processes and procedures that seek to maximise opportunity, minimise risk and continuously promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce.

For an informal discussion, or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Sarah Pickering, Headteacher, on 01395 568890.

For an application form and further details, please email pharris@millwater.devon.sch.uk or send a large A4 size SAE to Paula Harris at the above address.

Please apply by 9am on the closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
