Class 3H - Summer Term 2017

This term class 3H have been Explorers! We started by exploring the world around us. We visited the orchard, Bicton grounds and Woodbury common. We learned about the things we could see, hear, touch, smell and even found our own den in the woods. We then wrote our own book about our adventures.

Class 3H were also space explorers! We found out about space, different planets and listened to and watched songs and stories about space. We matched numbers and counted down – 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 - Blast off!! We made space rockets with our names on and loved playing with the space rocket in small world play.

Then Class 3H were pirates! We have been exploring floating and sinking. We have learnt about things that will float or sink and we have made predictions about which objects and materials we think will float or sink. We have made Pirate boats from different materials based on what we found out. 

Class 3H and 3K have worked together to write invitations, follow a recipe to make Pizza and biscuits and improved our fine motor control skills by making pirate hats and treasure maps.

We also had a Pirate party. We walked the plank, found treasure in the sand, played on the pirate boat, sang pirate songs and listened to pirate stories. We also ate the food we had made.

Wow what a busy and fun time we have had.
