We began the term with the topic ‘Me and my new school’ using two lovely stories to base our activities on called ‘Goose goes to school’ and ‘Mine’s bigger than yours’. As well as class based sessions we’ve enjoyed outings to the park, Greendales, the animals at Bicton and some Forest School time. Once a month we invite our families to join us at school for the afternoon to see what we do.
In the second half of the term our topic is ‘Festivals and Celebrations’. We began with taking part in Apple Week which included making our own apple juice in the orchard. During this week it was also Oliver’s birthday so this was a great excuse to make a delicious apple cake to celebrate!
For ‘Children in Need’ we made some delicious spotty cakes and raised money by dressing up for a fancy dress parade in the hall and covering some paper Pudsey’s in coins.
We’re now having lots of fun with our friends in Class 1 working with a specialist music teacher every Monday afternoon to create a magical Christmas presentation for families and friends to come and see later in the term.
